ENLACE believes that to promote student academic achievement it must promote parent involvement. Parents who are more involved have more opportunities to learn from other parents and teachers about school procedures, ways to enhance their children’s education at home, extracurricular opportunities, and ways to handle educational situations at home and at school.

The focus of ENLACE activity is to work with parents in defining their perspective, points of view, and roles in relation to the roles of teachers and school staff.

On the other hand, ENLACE works with school personnel to learn and understand the multiplicity of family involvement represented by the diversity of families constituting the classroom community.

Through partnerships with the college community, local school districts, and other organizations, ENLACE seeks to:

• provide a supporting environment for parents, students and staff
  
• to assist parents and schools to support meaningful parent involvement
  
• to foster parent involvement and engagement in their children’s schools;
  
• to create strong parent-school relationships
  
• to support parents strong value of education and their high expectations for their children
